Interested in being a Speaker?

User groups are constantly looking for good speakers.  We have been lucky with CINNUG to get some really good speakers in.   But speakers can be hard to come by.

CodeZone (www.codezone.com) is a resource for developers to get hooked up with learning resources, including a local user group.  One of the features it has included is also a regional speakers bureau.  Like the Speakers bureau for INETA this list is a resource for user group to get into contact with speakers for your group or event.

But the title of this post is not, “do you need a speaker”, it’s more about becoming a speaker.  CINNUG has a few people that are regular speakers and live in the Cincinnati area.  These includes Mike Levy, James Avery, Nino Benvenuti, and myself.  We’ve each done several talks for the group over the last three years the group has been around.  We are also trying to foster more members to step up and present on a topic.

If you have given presentations in the past for groups, or are interested in doing so, contact your local User Group leader and see if you can schedule a topic.  If you are interested in presenting beyond your local user group, register on CodeZone to be in their speakers list (you have to be a member of CodeZone, which is free).

Give back to the community.
