Dreamspark expands

This may be old news, but the Dreamspark program that Microsoft offers for students to be able to get top level developer software for free has now been extended to High School students.  Personally, I think this is an awesome program.

Several years back my next door neighbor’s son told me he was interested in computer programming.  Later, after I attended the VS 2005 launch and was given then VS 2005 professional bits I came home and took those next door (I had access to the bits via MSDN anyway).  I know that the boy installed it and played around quite a bit.  Now he’s in college and studying computer programming.  (I’m not saying I steered him in any way, he already wanted to get into computers, but by giving him access to tools I’d like to think he was inspired a bit).

If you know of High School kids that may be interested computer programming then share this link with them.  Or, better yet, if you know a high school administrator then share the link with them and see if they would get their school enrolled in the program.
