Kalamazoo X 2010

Last year Mike Eaton and a few other fine folks from Michigan got together and planned out a different kind of event.  They wanted a single track event so that you didn’t miss anything or needed to make a decision on one topic over another.  They identified topics they wanted to see, but the problem was with a single track event the number of topics was limited for a one day event, so they decided to time box the talks to 20 minutes.  A day of lightning talks.  A day of focused, succinct, moving talks on technology and career.  It was a great event and one that I really enjoyed.

Well, this year Kalamazoo X is back!  On April  10th the 2010 Kalamazoo X conference will be held.  Once again this year it will be a single track, lightning talk based event.  You can check out all the information at http://kalamazoox.org.  They have the session list posted and you can register at : http://kalamazoox.eventbrite.com/.  The cost is $35.00 for a professional attendee and $15.00 for student attendees.

I’ve been selected to give an abridged version of my Be a Better Developer talk, which is my favorite talk to present.  I’ll be doing some keen editing and crunching to fit what is usually 90 minutes into a 30 minute window, but I’m looking forward to compressing that talk down to the best bits.  I’m pretty excited to be speaking along side of the great speakers that were selected.  Check out the session line up at http://kalamazoox.org/2010Sessions.

This event is well worth the the ticket price and the drive.  Reserve your seat now and make plans to attend if you can.
