Scotland Bound...

My wife and I are off for a trip to the United Kingdom! She has traveled out of the country many times (Europe, Caribbean, India, etc.) while I have only been out of the country twice (both times to the Bahamas). Since she is much more traveled than I she graciously allowed me to pick the destination of our first out of country vacation (minus the Bahamas for our honeymoon). My first (unspoken) choice was Australia, but it just costs to much to get there in my opinion. Maybe some other time when I’m making better money. My second choice was Scotland!

While we looked at our options we decided to fly in to London, then take a sleeper train to Edinburgh, Scotland. We are also going to visit Loch Lomond for a few days to get in some really great scenery!

The only things we have “planned” and arranged are the plane tickets, train tickets for the sleepers and a place to stay each night. What we do and what we see we’ll figure out when we get there. We’ve already discussed seeing the Tower of London, Edinburgh castle and perhaps the London Museum.

Looks like my wife gets to do the driving while we are there since the majority of the cars are manual transmission and I never really drove sticks.  That’s fine….that leaves me to read the map and get us lost (which could be romantic depending on the scenery, time of day, and current mood of the wife)!

I’ll have more about our trip (including pictures) once we get back.
