Get your Architecture Journal Fix with the new WPF Reader

Microsoft has released a Beta reader for the Architecture Journal (AJ).  The reader is, of course, written using WPF and and reminiscent of the NY Times reader.  You can find the beta journal reader on the Microsoft Download site.

I’ve shrinkterized the url at http://shrinkster.com/smw in case you want to share by word of mouth (Yeah, shrinkster is back online….yeah!).

I came across this via: http://www.infoq.com/news/2007/11/aj-reader

It seems that there is a NewsReader SDK out there being slaved over.  I’d not heard about it before this.  From this SDK anyone can customize a reader for their RSS feeds.  Don’t expect a MikeWo’s Musing Reader anytime soon though.

I downloaded the bits for the AJ Reader and it does what it says it does….it pulls AJ content to your system for reading.  Other than it automatically pulling new content (when you remember to open it) it can search content easily.  If you like this style of offline reader then check out Xiine, which is the offline reader for Code Magazine.
