Home from across the pond

Well, I’m home from my trip.  Still a little jet lagged even though I slept about ten hours last night to try to recover.  We got in around 1:00 am on Monday morning, but that had been around 7:00 am for us while in the U.K. and we didn’t get much/any sleep while in transit.  Pretty long day….then waking up on Monday and having to drive to some of my in-laws to get our dog in Columbus didn’t help (but it was great that they kept him for us).

The trip was a blast!  We did so much stuff it’s not funny.  I think we must have averaged walking about ten miles each day just going here and there.  The public transportation over there is just excellent. Far superior to what we have here.  The London Underground was a great way to get around and we even did some bus trips there as well.  The all day tavelpass is a wise choice unless you plan on just going one place that day.

We made it just to the sourthern reaches of the Highlands of Scotland, but the scenery was just outstanding.  I’ve always wanted to go to Scotland to see the lands, and this was just great!  The weather was pretty decent for Scotland, a bit rainy now and again, but usually we were inside when it was bad.  One day in Edinburgh it rained quite heavily on us while we were out, but we didn’t melt or anything.

I’ll write more about my trip a bit later, and have some pictures put up about it as well.
