My first RANT!
Okay, I had this category on here since I started the blog but haven’t done one yet….but today something just tipped me off, so here goes!
Do people not see the sign that says “EXPRESS LANE” at the grocery store? You know, the one that says 15 items or less. Apparently not, because some lady in front of me had an entire push basket full of things. The girl at the checkout counter didn’t ask her to go to another line, she just rang her up. I can’t blame her I guess, she was only about 16. I don’t think many 16 year old girls would have the gumption to tell a 40 year old Mom with two kids standing around her to go to another line. They need to arm the express lane with the crotchety old ladies/men they put as the door greeters. You know, the ones that look like they would be the grandparent from hell; who barely look at you if you are under 50 years old. I can see one them being pretty strict with the number of items.
So, with that lane filled I decided to go to the U-SCAN aisle. Hmmm, not much better here with people (also with more items than the sign says) trying to scan their items and scratching their heads on why it keeps saying, “Please place the item in the bag”. As I stood in line behind this lady that literally took ten minutes to scan herself out, I think the cashier had to come help at least three times. Then, the lady wanted to pay by check! Okay, as far as I’m concerned these machines should accept CASH (with no change…just direct paper cash) or an ATM/Credit card only. The lady didn’t “trust” the machine to print the check for her so that all she had to do was sign it (even though she gets to SEE it right after it printed and before she signs it). No, she had to fill it by herself, which took longer.
By the time I figured out I was in trouble behind this lady the first lady with the two kids was pushing her way out the door. **SIGH ** I guess my problem is that I hate shopping, and grocery shopping is pretty much the worst. I had like three items and was ready to get out of there. I scanned my items, paid and was out the door less than two minutes from the time I pushed the first button on the touch screen (I didn’t actually count, but it had to be close).
