Tablet Maintenance
Well, my M1300 Motion Computing Tablet PC is just about a year old now. It has started to get some cracks in the plastic side rails and is missing the little rubber feet on the bottom that keep it from sliding around when laid flat. So, while it’s under warranty I’m sending it in to get fixed up.
The side rails cracking is a regular issue with the M1300, which they say is fixed with the M1400. Too bad they can’t put M1400 rails on my M1300, but I’m told they can’t do that. It’s taken a year for my rails to crack, which apparently is better than some people who had issues with this very early on. Not sure what brought it on now.
Motion says it will take about a week turn around to get fixed. I have my RMA and have backed up all the stuff I care about (just in case, but they should have to even turn the machine on). Just need to package it up and send it off. Apparently service turn around has been intermittent since Motion uses some 3rd party service vendor. We’ll see.
I’m already trying not to do anything new on my tablet….so I don’t have to worry about backing stuff up again before it’s mailed. I miss it already.
