Costume Winners

Last night was Halloween and I spent it at my Brother’s house.  My parents were in and my wife was out of town, so I packed up and headed the 40 minutes to Loveland, OH.  They had about 150+ trick or treaters come by.  You had the usual ghosts, ninjas, witches, etc.  Two costumes really stuck out as original ideas.

  1. Three girls (about 12-14 years old) were dressed in black t shirts and wearing sunglasses.  They carried canes as well.  On the front of their t-shirt it said, “Three Blind Mice”, and on the back they had numbers (01, 02, 03, etc.) and their names.  They would walk up to the door and sing (at the top of their lungs) the “Three Blind Mice” song.  It was very original.  You could hear them coming down the street as they sung at each door.

  2. Another girl (also in her early teens) came up carrying two bags.  I can’t say she had a costume at all since I was laughing at the bags.  One had a picture of John Kerry and the other had a picture of George Bush.  She said you could vote by putting candy in the bag.  I put a piece in both to be politically ambivalent (despite the fact my sister in law has a Kerry sign in her front yard, and it could have been the only one in the neighborhood).  As the girl walked off she examined the bags and stated, “Kerry is loosing!”
