Transfer OneNote Preferences

With the purchase of my new LS800 I moved over a lot of data from my old tablet.  The new tablet came with OneNote, of course, and I needed to be able to set up the same Note Flags as I had on the other machine.  Scanning Google for a bit I came across the location this data is stored.

By default it is C:\Documents and Settings{your user name}\Application Data\OneNote

There is a file called Preferences.dat and one called Toolbars.dat.  The Preferences.dat contains the Note Flags and other preferences.  I assume the Toolbars.dat stores the location and customization of the toolbars.  I simply copied Preferences.dat to the new machine in the same location and all seems well.  I’d give a word of caution to say that most likely ALL the preferences you can specify on a user basis are stored in the preferences file, not just the Note Flags.
