Quick Update
The first part of the keynote for today is over and the second part is focusing on the Enterprise Content Managment of the new Office platform. I just thought I would throw out a few gems from the first part of the keynote:
- All the PDC attendees are getting a free copy of SQL Server 2005 shipped to them when it is released.
- Microsoft “Expression” is a new suite of products being released to help enable designers and developers work more closely. There is a product called Sparkle Interactive which is a way for designers to develop forms that can be saved into VS projects for developers to code against. There is Acrylic, which is used to work with Vector and bitmap graphics to use in the other products. And there is the Quartz web designer package which is the designer workplace for putting together the web application layout and look/feel. They look pretty good.
- They talked about WWF (oh, what a loaded anacronym), which is Windows Workflow Foundation. Take a look at this online. This is some seriously sweet stuff and I’ll post more on it later.
Well, time to get some food and head to my first session of the day.
