Ready for a new day

Well, true to my normal Monday I woke up at around 5:00 am.  The problem with that is that out on the Pacific coast that means 2:00 am.  Well, I did get a somewhat more of a lie in than that, but I’m still up and ready well before I need to be.

Today is the first day of the Patterns and Practices Summit West 2006. This morning’s keynote is by Brad Abrams on “Principles of Framework Design”.  I saw Brad give a related talk last year at PDC.  Other sessions today will hopefully prove to be very interesting:

  • Dependency Injection Architecutre - Brad Wilson
  • Enterprise Library 3.0 - Tom Hollander
  • CSLA Framework - Lessons Learned - Rocky Lhotka
  • Application Framework Projects in IT - Jonathan Wanagel
  • Architecting for Security - Shawn Veney
  • Generating Skeletal Baseline Applications - David Trowbridge

I’m especially looking forward to the first two.

Well, time to get some breakfast and figure out just where I’m supposed to go.
