nPlus1 is hosting its second Architecture Summit in Columbus, OH next week on Wednesday (2/25/2009). The main topic will be the same as the Winter Summit: Cloud Computing. Brian Prince and James Bender will be giving presentations and facilitating open discussions on what cloud computing means for you and your business. If you have questions about how the newest incarnation of cloud computing can help your company or clients you should get registered and head to Columbus next Wednesday.
I’ve installed Windows Home Server at the house and have been enjoying the peace of mind of nightly full machine backups. As I’m learning more about home server I came across this article from the WHS Hacks site on the ioSafe external hard drive. It’s a USB external hard drive that can be underwater for 3 days or can withstand a fire up to 1500 degrees. Wow. That’s just insane.
The next Bitslingers event will be on Monday, March 2nd. We’re going to hold it at Panera Bread again at Deerfield Town Centre. What is Bitsligners? This is an informal meetup of people interested in learning from one another. Bring your laptop and pair up with someone to work on an open source project, learn a new technique, or even dabble in a new language. There is no agenda or specific topic, just an time set aside for people to pair.
