P&P Summit: Day one wrap up

Well, overall the sessions have been okay.  I’ve not been blown away with anything yet.

As far as the conference itself:

  • They have good snacks and selection of drinks.
  • The conference center is great - nice chairs, a table in front of you to write on, power ports directly in front of you.
  • The lunch was a horrible box lunch thing.  I have to remember to load up on the fruit before lunch tomorrow.
  • There needs to be about 20 mintues between sessions.

The hotel I’m at, the Marriot Residence Inn in Redmond, was a great choice.  It’s right at the edge of the little outdoor mall in Redmond.  Lots of little shops and places to eat.  Even if you don’t shop much, like me, at least it’s a nice place to walk around in and not be trapped in your hotel.

I ate at Frankies Pizza and Pasta tonight.  The calzone was excellent.  I’d recommend this place if you’re in town.  Last night we ate at the hotel’s resteraunt called the Meritage.  It was not as good, though definately edible.  Somewhat pricey on the good stuff I’d say.  That and it has like 5 people in it other than Stephan and I.

Well, it’s now about three hours past my normal bed time and it’s not even 10:30 pm local time.  I’m about to drop off at the keyboard.  More tomorrow, but don’t expect all the blog entries to be completed tomorrow as I think we are going to hit a movie after the sessions for something to do.
