Run command on Start Menu in Vista

Several people have posted the instructions on how to get the “Run” command back on the start bar in Vista.  By default it is not shown.  Why is this such a big deal? Is there something you can’t do with the instant search textbox? It seems to do the same as the run command and then some. I can launch apps, use command lines, etc. from it. Why add the Run option back on?

Oh, and Windows-R still works! You don’t even have to use the mouse to click the start button to get the start menu to come up so that you can click Run.
