TechEd: Hackathon
If you are headed to TechEd next week and you have an interest in coding on Windows Phone 7 you may want to check out the Hackathon that is being held prior to the conference. On Monday, May 16th, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM the Hackathon will be held at the Omni Hotel At CNN Center, Grand Ballroom (A,B, C).
What is a Hackathon? It’s an opportunity for you to get your hands dirty working on code getting something running on WP7. There will be experts available in WP7 development, Windows Azure and XNA so you can get your questions answered and, who knows, maybe you leave with a great idea for your own game or application.
To get started you can use the Window Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 if you want to back your application with some cloud services and storage. It comes with some great samples and quickstart projects. If you’d like more quickstarts you can check out the http://wp7azurequickstarts.codeplex.com project which has some great quick starts for integrating with corporate directories, event tracking and locator quickstarts.
If you want to register for the Hackathon check out http://bit.ly/RegWP7Hackathon.
