Last night was Halloween and I spent it at my Brother’s house. My parents were in and my wife was out of town, so I packed up and headed the 40 minutes to Loveland, OH. They had about 150+ trick or treaters come by. You had the usual ghosts, ninjas, witches, etc. Two costumes really stuck out as original ideas.
Three girls (about 12-14 years old) were dressed in black t shirts and wearing sunglasses.
Okay, I thought we were past all this nonsense when I left school. While I do believe that you should dress respectively (and I know that is a matter of opinion), this dress code is just too much (via Don Box). All male consultants MUST wear a suit? A well-tailored suit at that. Well, I hope that he pays really well so that his consultants can pay for the well-tailored suits.
Hmmm, this article on the BBC makes me think that sooner or later we will generate a mandatory set of “core directives” for robots. This sounds suspiciously familiar. Of course, the article is just talking about how robots should interact with Humans, but I think the Three Laws of Asimov will likely be brought to real use at some point. I do agree that robots will increasingly become a part of our lives.
