Site changes

So with about ten minutes of time to get files FTPed, changed and returned to the site I have added a dynamic Blog Roll to the site via NewsGator Online. This was SO easy to do and very cool. Now when I add a new subscription it will just appear on the site automagically! I’ve also added a url image link provided by NewsGator to the header next to the XML icon that will allow users of NewsGator Online to subscribe with a simple click.

Were there really "Hobbits"?

This is just a strange archeological find. In Indonesia they have discovered what appears to be a race of humans who were about a meter in height. The local islanders have myths about these small people, which lends to the idea that oral history contains some record of the discovered race. One thing I found funny about the articles: “LB1 [The name of the discovered remains] shared its island with a golden retriever-sized rat, giant tortoises and huge lizards - including Komodo dragons - and a pony-sized dwarf elephant called Stegodon which the “hobbits” probably hunted.

R.A. Salvatore book signing

Last night I attended a book signing by R.A. Salvatore. His books list in quite extensive, but he was signing for his new book “The Two Swords". Salvatore is a science fiction/fantasy novelist who has become famous for his stoic, battle hardened, dark elf hero Drizzt. I would say that his works are the cornerstone of the Forgotten Realms line of books published by Wizards of the Coast. The story starts back with the “The Icewind Dale Trilogy” and continues through many trilogies and one off novels.
