WSProxyGen from Dave Donaldson

To make up for my lack of posting good technical content I’ll mooch off Dave. :) Actually, Dave has posted a little utility that I will be using on my next project. It generates a proxy class for a web service sans all the “crap” that the Add Web Reference tool in VS.Net slaps into your code (aka, it doesn’t add stuff to the Settings, cram the URL into an odd position in the web config, etc).

Have you heard of Silverlight? What about WPF/E?

WPF/E is Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere. It’s a cross-browser, cross platform media technology. The guys on .Net Rocks have been saying it’s comparible to Flash. Well, they’ve now given it an official name, and for once Microsoft hasn’t even put the word Windows in the title: Silverlight. Check out more on their website: http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/. From what I can gather it’s XAML based, but doesn’t support the full XAML capabilities that WPF does in .

Day of .Net in Ann Arbor

Looks like I’ll be headed North for Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day. But instead of celebrating Mexican victory over France or horse racing I’ll be learning more about .Net at the Ann Arbor Day of .Net. It looks like there will be several really good sessions.
