While Chris indicates that no radically new UI will be shipping with the next OneNote, he does talk about some really cool features revolving around indexing and searching in OneNote. The most radical feature will be the ability to instantly search video/audio content for words and find exactly where they are in the stream. Holy Cow batman!
I had planned on going to a breakout session on managed code snap-ins for MMC, but I got an email inviting me to an informal side session on the Tablet PC instead (from someone who read my LS800 review no less). This was a pretty neat session and I really enjoyed it, but it ran a bit long and into my next session which wasn’t so nice.
There was a representative from Motion Computing there and I overheard him talking about Motion offering a “HP Trade-in” program to accept old HP tablets of a model they were discontinuing for discounts on the new Motions.
I had previously mentioned that I wanted to purchase a LS800 tablet…..well, my willpower is very week (and my wife is very kind) and so I’ve had one now for about three weeks. So far I’m pretty happy with it. I thought I’d provide a nice summation of my thoughts on the device. This is pretty long.
The Tablet
The LS800 is the fourth generation tablet from Motion Computing. The model is the fifth tablet Motion has released, but is in many ways a miniature version of the LE 1600.
