I signed up for a bloglines account. We’ll see how it goes. I think I’ll keep using the Newsgator Outlook edition that I have, but I’ve shut off the synchronization option with the online service. I’ve also switched out my automated blog roll from Newsgator to Bloglines. Newsgator allowed you to tailor the blogroll creation with tokens, but bloglines just has CSS styles that you can define in your stylesheet to provide the look and feel.
Eric Sink has a great article on describing Market Competition to Geeks. It’s pretty long, but worth the read.
I’ve been using Newsgator as my RSS aggregator for about a year or more. I was pulled in by the integration of the Outlook Edition of their reader and really like it. Before that I was using SharpReader, but that seemed really slow and was another program to keep open, etc., etc. So, after my 30 day trial of Newsgator Outlook I purchased a license and have been pretty happy. That is up until a week or so ago.
