Linq Presentation today
Today I spoke at the DevCares event in Cincinnati. This month’s topic was Visual Studio Orcas and LINQ. Drew Robbins gave the first presentation, which was a “Lap around Orcas” talk and I had the second one which was specifically on LINQ. I have to admit that I didn’t feel as prepared for the talk as I like to be, but it seemed to go over wll enough.
Here are some of the resource links from my talk:
- LINQ Project on MSDN (http://www.shrinkster.com/ow3)
- DNR: Dan Simmons on Entity Framework (http://www.shrinkster.com/oty)
- MSDN Articles in June issue (two articles but it wasn’t up yet online)
- LINQ to Amazon (http://www.shrinkster.com/ov3)
- 101 LINQ Samples (http://www.shrinkster.com/ov8)
- DNR: ORM Smackdown coming 5/24 (http://www.shrinkster.com/otx)
- VPC for Orcas Beta 1 - Team System (http://www.shrinkster.com/ovy)
- Orcas Beta 1 Self Extracting (http://www.shrinkster.com/ovz – Pro or http://www.shrinkster.com/ow0 – Team System)
- Patch for EDM Wizard for Orcas Beta 1 (http://www.shrinkster.com/ov6) - The patch fixes an issue with the Entity Data Model wizard.
The slide deck and demo code can be downloaded from my site. Also included in the zip file is a whitepaper from Microsoft about what to expect in Orcas…there is some seriously cool things in this release. Timezone APIs, multi-targeting for frameworks in the IDE, much enhanced JavaScript experience, etc., etc.
This presentation and a hectic week at work were the reasons I wasn’t able to get a post up about the Ann Arbor Day of .Net…which rocked by the way.
